Como Roundhouse Open House & Work Day — July 15th, 2023

The Track Crew continued to complete track #5, Steve Burt, Road Master Alex Hois, Jim McBee, Steve Schweighofer, Jim Scoville with James Mackay in video production

Volunteers Garry Patterson, Steve Thompson, Paul Greguoli, Kevin Kibble, Operators Chris Tome and Bob Revis packed up and relocated track and construction material to a new consolidated material yard location site.

The former area with materials relocated into a consolidated and organized material area provides for visitor parking on open house days and parking for handicapped parking on Boreas Pass Railroad Day, but more important it provides a more pleasant, esthetic and inviting view of the Como Historic site for visitors to appreciate our efforts to preserve archeological history.

Further work continued to enhance visitor experience of archeological history on the Como Heritage site with Joey Knous and Clark Stemke constructing a visitor ramp to view the archival collection and the relocation of C&S Boxcar #8027under the leadership of Catherine Woodham Heritage Curator with Bob Schoppe and Michael Bottlemy observing.

John Meixel and Philippe Bucher from the Colorado Railroad Museum Railroad Car Restoration crew continued preservation work on C&S Boxcar #8011.

Skip Sherman and Kor Elzenga continued grass / weed whacking to beautify the campus.

Heritage Campus Visitor Hosts Deb Stremke, Charlene Elzenga and Michael Bottlemy provided visitors tours of the historical campus.

Too bad no one is smiling while enjoying lunch served by Chris Ruch and Leslie Cole.

Bob Revis and Tom Lawson, end of a long productive day planning further Heritage Campus improvement.

• Saturday September 30, work day and a special day, Volunteer Appreciation Day with an Oktoberfest Party!
